How to download TikTok videos on Mac

    Copy the TikTok link

    Open the video on tiktok.com and copy the address from Safari's address bar, or use Share › Copy link.

    Click in the box and press ⌘V. A preview of the video appears.

    Click Download MP4. The video goes to your Downloads folder.

Where the video goes

Downloads land in Finder › Downloads, named after the creator and the video. The MP4 opens in QuickTime Player, previews with Quick Look (select it and press the space bar), and imports straight into iMovie or Final Cut Pro.

From Mac to iPhone

Select the MP4 in Finder, choose Share › AirDrop and pick your iPhone; the video lands in Photos. If you save TikToks on your iPhone more often than on your Mac, the PocketTok app does it there directly, from TikTok's share menu.

No. On a Mac, use this website. The PocketTok app is for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Where are downloaded TikTok videos on my Mac?

In the Downloads folder in Finder. In Safari, click the Downloads button in the toolbar to see the file, then click the magnifying glass to show it in Finder.

Can I get the video onto my iPhone?

Yes. AirDrop the MP4 from Finder to your iPhone and it goes to Photos. Or skip the Mac: the PocketTok app saves TikToks on iPhone straight from TikTok's share menu.

Does it remove the watermark?

Normally yes: PocketTok downloads the file TikTok plays inside its own app, which has no watermark. For the rare post where TikTok only offers the watermarked file, that is the one you get.
