How TikTok Favorites work, and where they fall short
The bookmark button on a TikTok adds it to Favorites, a tab on your profile. You can sort Favorites into collections, and for quick bookmarking they're fine. But they have limits:
- They vanish. A favorite is a link to someone else's video. When the creator deletes it or makes it private, it's gone from your list.
- They need a connection. Nothing is stored on your phone, so there's nothing to watch offline.
- They're hard to search. Hundreds of favorites become one long grid of thumbnails.
Keep your own copy instead
To be sure a TikTok is still there later, save the video itself. PocketTok does this in a couple of taps, on iPhone, iPad and Android:
